Grant to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.....

Lions recently made a donation of £3,500 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) at the Bridge Hotel & Spa.

YAA's Jenny Jones received the cheque and spoke to Lion members of the recent developments in her organisation. She was pleased to announce that their two (2) new helicopters are now operational, both being capable of flying at night and operating from 6 am to 12 midnight .  Their running costs are £12,000 per day and our donation was gratefully received.

New Lion Tim

Lion President John Boulton takes the latest recruit through the Lionistic investiture ceremony.  Now Lion Tim, commented  "it is with great 'pride' that I take on the role of a Wetherby District Lion and I look forward to serving the Club and the local community' in the coming years.  Tim Ritson was born a Geordie but moved to Wetherby in 1978 having passed through High Wycombe to study Marketing Management and London to discover what the world of work had to offer in the big city. The attractions of the Yorkshire Dales outweighed the benefits of living in London.  He has one wife, two daughters, one grandson and one blind dog.
