Wetherby Lions Duck Race 2018

The Duck Race is organised as a community event by Wetherby District Lions Club.  The funds raised go to the Lions Charity Account which is used to support all sorts of local initiatives such as the play area equipment  which will be constructed soon and the many youth projects (Brownies, Scouts and young Cricketers) in the area. 

The Duck Race is held in conjunction with 'Wetherby Food Festival' and takes place on The Ings (next to the footbridge on King George’s Field) on Sunday 8 July 2018.  The event starts at 11.00 am and tickets are available at £2 each.  The first prize is £200 second prize is £...

At a recent Wetherby District Lions Business Meeting, Lion President John Boulton was delighted to present Lion Maurice Upton a special chevron badge in achievement of his 34 years as a Lion.

Retired fire fighter Maurice over the last 34 years has had a marked effect on the lives of countless individuals within the Wetherby area helping to raise almost £1 million throughout that period.  We thank Lion Maurice for his time and commitment over this period and look forward to many more years from him.

More money to worthy causes - donation to Thorp Arch Boston Spa (TABS) Cricket Club

Wetherby District Lions Club were delighted to help the thriving Thorp Arch Boston Spa (TABS) Cricket Club Junior Section by recently donating £1,500.00 to the purchase of new cricket practice nets.  Our photo shows a lot of excited junior players  coaches and Wetherby District Lions.

We wish T.A.B.S. every success for the coming season and look forward to more joint ventures in the future.
