Lion Jenny Wade

At the Club meeting on Monday 7th December regretfully, members of Wetherby Lions said farewell to Lion Jenny Wade, who is moving to be with her daughter at Brompton by Sawdon, near Scarborough. Her committee Chairman, Lion Stewart Reid, marked the occasion with a gift of a designer handbag and flowers (see the photo attached).

Lion Jenny came to our Club as a transferee from a Club on the Isle of Wight, where she held many offices, including President. She was Chair of the Welfare/Donations Committee for several years, where she did an excellent job in organizing and distributing Christmas gifts to the elderly in the community, as well as being a leading light in the organization of our annual Senior Citizens’ lunch.

We shall miss her enthusiasm and expertise and wish her well in her new abode. She tells us that she will be taking a short break from Lions and then will consider her options. Both Bridlington and Scarborough Lions Clubs are within striking distance. Which ever Lions Club she decides to join will gain an excellent and committed Lion.
