A 'Roaring Success' for Wetherby Lions

New Lion Lesley

Lion President John Boulton takes one of the latest recruits through the Lionistic investiture ceremony. Lion Lesley, commented "it is with great 'pride' that I take on the role of a Wetherby District Lion and I look forward to serving the Club and the local community' in the coming years. Lesley also likes fighting in armour, cooking medieval food and Egyptian dance (commonly known as 'belly dancing’) – watch out for her !

New Lion Nigel

Lion President John also took new Lion Nigel through the Lionistic investiture ceremony. Lion Nigel commented, "I'm looking forward to helping those less fortunate than myself in the community". Since retiring in May 2017 Lion Nigel has been able to spend more time with his books, his bike and his walking shoes, as well as getting to know some local people and indulge his interests in cricket and craft beer - keep your heads down at our Beer Festival in September !

For over fifty years Wetherby District Lions Club members have been helping individuals and organisations in times of need assisted by the generosity of the people of the Wetherby District.
