CANCELLED - Great Yorkshire Bike Ride 2021
Disappointment for 1500 Riders
It is with regret and a heavy heart that Wetherby Lions have to announce that the promoter of the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride event, with which we assist, has CANCELLED the 2021 event. He considers that the speed of the vaccine roll out, the age range of volunteers/supporters and the problems of dealing with points like the start, lunch-stop and return transport will be unmanageable. Plus he does not know if mass participation events will be allowed by June this year.
Hopefully we will be back for the GYBR 2022 event, diarise the date,18th June 2022. We look forward to seeing you then.
As you can imagine the income normally generated from the GYBR event helps Wetherby Lions to support individuals and organisations in our local community; it will be difficult now to fulfil this role.
