Lions and Lambs thanking carers!

Wetherby District Lions are saying ‘thank you!’ to forty (40) voluntary carers who work tirelessly to look after relatives and friends. We had planned a meal for them but current restrictions prevent this. Therefore, the Lions, with a very generous donation from Sir Robert Ogden, have produced forty vouchers that will be distributed to carers redeemable at The Fox & Hounds (Walton) or The Bay Horse (Kirk Deighton).

“It’s been a privilege to bring a bit of joy to people’s lives during such a difficult period,” says Alan Lamb (The Bay Horse). “We’ve been delivering meals from both sites and have covered a very wide area from Tadcaster to Bramham to Wetherby. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback directly from the customers and it’s been a pleasure to work with the Lions on this project.”

“I am a carer for my husband. I received a voucher from the Wetherby Lions via Carer's Leeds to be spent at the Bay Horse or the Fox & Hounds. Today we both had a Sunday Lunch that was excellent. Thank you so much for your generous gift. It has been a real boost for us both. Will you please pass my thanks to all involved in the scheme.” KH
