Wetherby Lions Beer Festival

RAISING MONEY FOR: YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE

Our motto 'We Serve' took on a whole new last year

The event is back again on Friday 24th & Saturday 25th May 2019

Beer Festival is a 'grrrrrrrreat' success for Wetherby Lions ! !

A very successful Beer Festival saw Club members, with fantastic support from over forty local, national and international companies, raise a substantial sum for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

On Friday evening we welcomed a large number of sponsors who joined with other craft ale aficionados to create a vibrant and convivial atmosphere with a great deal of tasting and networking going on!  One local company, a major sponsor of the event, was so keen to become involved that four of their colleagues donned aprons on Friday evening pulling pints and serving drinks!

On Saturday, the Festival was opened by the Deputy Mayor of Wetherby, Councillor Neil O’Byrne and included a presentation by Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  Good weather, the wide range of local craft beers and ciders on offer, along with musical entertainment throughout the afternoon, contributed to a very relaxed and happy atmosphere enjoyed by all whilst supporting a very worthy cause.

The Lions will be resting for a short while before Santa’s sleigh visits Wetherby and our renowned 'Dickensian Christmas Market' and 'Christmas Craft Fayre' comes to town (9th December)!  Make a note of it in your diary !

Also look out for our nominee notices for our 'Townsperson of the Year' Award which will be presented at the 'Dickensian Christmas Market'.

Club members, as always, are working to support the local community and would welcome extra community minded helpers who have some spare time to help others.  It’s good fun and good company!

If you have some free time and would like to know what else we do we welcome you to write to us here or telephone 0845 833 9529.   We are just ordinary people doing extraordinary things, why not join our pride ?
