Lions Fun 'thank-you' Night

Our thank you to our supporters...

It was a gala cheque presentation evening on Friday 22nd September at Wetherby Town Hall for Lions when over £7,000.00 was given to a number of local organisations and Lions Clubs for their involvement in this year’s Great Yorkshire Bike Ride (GYBR).

The GYBR Event, having a route from Wetherby Racecourse to Filey Brigg – distance of over 70 miles, is managed by the Lions with various groups helping as Marshals throughout the route and at Lunchstop and Finish points. As a ‘thank you’ for their help Lion members’ were pleased to donate money to these worthy groups including, Wetherby Musical Theatre Group, the local ATC Squadron and Wetherby Runners Athletic Club. The fun event, taking place for the first time, included a quiz, food and a game of bingo; it really was a fantastic success with plans already underway for the same next year.
