On your a Wetherby Beer Festival in which the organisers are pulling out all the stops to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Bearing in mind a great summer ahead of Yorkshire-based cycling action, this year’s Beer Festival, brought to you by the Wetherby Lions, has an appropriate cycling theme. And with great prizes up for grabs, it may pay to wear to the Festival your best cycling top/jersey. Courtesy of Dean at 'Wetherby Bike Shack', the individual judged to be wearing the most striking attire will be rewarded with a £150 voucher to spend in the shop. And there’s a junior (11 and under) category with a £100 voucher up for grabs.

Already this year 'Stage Two' of the 'Tour de Yorkshire', from Barnsley to Bedale, has inspired a daring bike ride by the Lions’ Nigel Keenlyside - thirsty work! If you wish to sponsor him (all amounts are most welcome) you can make a donation through or you can meet him for a drink and hand over the money in cash at 'The Mews' on Bank Street, Wetherby at around 5.30 pm on Wednesday 10th April 2019. All proceeds of the event will go to the Lions chosen charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Now, to make the annual Beer Festival an event to remember, everyone with a bike ride, bus journey or simply a walk is urged to come along and enjoy the finest beers the great county of Yorkshire has to offer. Cheers!
