As well as their each-way bets on the horses at Sunday’s Community Race meeting, many in the crowd found the time to take a punt on winning a £200 prize when the annual event comes to town on July 14th.
Lions Martin, Tim, Phil and Julie staffed the gazebo as youngsters queued to hook a duck and win a badge while their parents bought tickets which enter them in the Duck Race itself.
The Duck Race, sponsored by the Lions in support of local charities, is set to draw a big crowd to The Ings on what will hopefully be a sunny Sunday for the fun event commencing at 11.00 am, it sees 1,500 plastic ducks set downstream in a race for the line and cash prizes.
