Wetherby Festival promises a party atmosphere

May 21, 2019

 This Bank Holiday weekend

Among the many local businesses who are supporting the event is the recently opened Rainflorist on Cross Street.  Owner, Jo Forster (in the photograph with event organiser Ken Campbell) said: “It’s such a lovely town and the Beer Festival sounds a great opportunity for people to get together in a fun environment and let their hair down. I’m pleased to offer my support.”

This Bank Holiday weekend sees the return of the annual Wetherby Lions Beer Festival in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

And, with good weather forecast and a host of entertainments lined up, it promises to be one of the town’s social events of the year.

Much-loved local band ‘The Blarney Boys’ will set the tone as the Festival, with its host of craft beers, gins and ciders, gets underway at 6.00 pm on Friday evening May 24th. Saturday May 25th, with its Noon start, will see musical acts ‘Mardi Gras Jazz Band’, ‘Eliza May’ and ‘Gavin’, free children’s entertainment from award winning Sandra and plenty of food on offer.

The region’s cyclists are attending in their eye-catching Lycra to vie for valuable prizes.

It promises to be one of your town’s greatest events and all proceeds go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The venue is the St James’ Church Rooms, Church Street in the centre of Wetherby.

Be sure that you don’t miss out, get you ticket here and get a ‘free’ drink or pay on the door – no drink though !
