Children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent has benefited to the tune of £1,700 from a donation by Wetherby Lions.

This money will provide start-up costs for treatment for 10 Yorkshire youngsters who are unfortunately diagnosed with the disease. CLIC Sargent’s Ryan Judson was on hand to receive the funds at the most recent Lions meeting. He explained that for every child diagnosed with cancer there is an immediate cost of £170. A Wetherby child, for instance, would need to be transported to Leeds for treatment, probably on a daily basis.

Wetherby Lions will be on hand at the local Morrison’s store on 1st to 4th February to support 'World Cancer Day' with a bucket collection.
