One of Wetherby’s most popular attractions, the ‘Dickensian Christmas Market and Craft Fayre’, will take on a different look this year owing to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regrettably, and with a heavy heart, Wetherby Lions are unable to play their usual active part at the festive event because of the coronavirus rules and restrictions relating to charity stalls, entertainment and sideshows.

However, a Christmas Farmers’ Market will still go ahead on the usual Farmers’ Market date, Sunday 13th December 2020. In addition to the regular Farmers’ Market stalls, there will also be a selection of stallholders selling artisan food and crafts who usually attend the Dickensian event. Come along to Wetherby Market Place and take the opportunity to purchase wonderful, tasty food and Christmas gifts. For full details about the event see the Farmers’ Market website here:

The Lions’ own Santa has already taken to his workshop and is patiently awaiting to see if a drop-in opportunity to the market may arise given the ever changing COVID-19 alert level situation.

The ‘red-clad bearded one’ is also busily working on a routing and itinerary for the Lions’ much-loved ‘Santa’s Sleigh adventure evenings’ held throughout Wetherby in December. Watch this space and the Lions’ website Santa page here:
