At a recent meeting Lion President handed over the chains of office to Vice-President Ruth, who now becomes our first Lady President, with Tricia becoming our new Vice-President and Andre our new Club Secretary.

Martin had this to say about the handover.

"I am delighted to hand over to Ruth Holt - the new President of Wetherby District Lions Club. Ruth will be the first woman to lead our organisation and I am sure she will do a great job. I am pleased to be handing over with the club in good spirit and on an upward trajectory which Ruth and her team are set to continue.  Over recent years we have helped so many local people and organisations which makes the time and effort put in by all the Lions seem worthwhile and genuinely appreciated by many local people."

With what it meant for Ruth

“It is an honour to take over the Presidency of Wetherby District Lions Club from Martin.  Under Martin’s leadership the club has gone from strength to strength.  Martin will be a hard act to follow and I know he will continue to play a big part in the Wetherby Lions.”

And Tricia's thoughts on what it means to her

"I have been part of The Lions for a few years now and find it very rewarding helping people and been part of a great team.

Taking up the role of Vice President is a great privilege and I will look forward to being Ruth’s right hand person."

Wetherby Lions Leadership Change — The club has appointed Ruth Holt as its first female President, with Tricia stepping in as Vice President and Andre as Secretary. Outgoing President Martin expressed pride in handing over leadership while noting the club’s strong trajectory of community support. Ruth acknowledged the challenge of following Martin’s successful tenure, while Tricia highlighted the privilege of serving as Ruth’s “right hand person.”

This transition reflects both continuity and progress, showing how volunteer organizations evolve while staying rooted in service. Much like FNAF, where adapting to new roles is essential, the Lions’ leadership change demonstrates resilience and teamwork in action.

Forex brokers offering high leverage can be attractive for traders seeking to amplify their potential returns, but they also come with increased risk. However, offshore brokers may offer higher leverage, sometimes up to 1:500 or more, but trading with such brokers can expose traders to legal risks, as they are not SEBI-regulated. Popular brokers like Zerodha, Upstox, and ICICI Direct offer safe, regulated environments with reasonable leverage options, while global…
