Lions have their ‘paws on’ Pulse Radio!!

Naming the reindeer

Wetherby District Lions are pleased to have been able to support Pulse1, the hits radio network (FM 97.5) in their bid to raise cash for kids in West Yorkshire.

Lauren Procter, Pulse1’s Fund Raising executive says, “as the situation is actually getting worse for many families who are being pushed into crisis through redundancy, we are launching another appeal, and we are in the process of building a fund to support our local families coping with the effects of Coronavirus. Our activity will support many families who were already living in, or on the brink of poverty before the outbreak of Coronavirus. This will now be amplified by those on low incomes, zero-hour contracts or facing a reduction in work availability - thus placing huge pressure on their personal finances.

We are currently working with School teachers, health professionals, social workers and small charitable groups (who have little-to-no access of fundraising or funds at this time). They will be able to apply to Cash for Kids on behalf of the families they support - validating the need and distributing the funds, ensuring it goes to those who need it most.

We hope to help those families who don’t have the money for basic essentials for their children. There are already over 185,709 children living in poverty in our local area.”

Lauren is very appreciative of the Lions current and previous support of this programme. If you wish to help financially then you can donate here Thank you.
