Almost a year ago, with the support of Wetherby Town Council and working with Wetherby District Lions, Wetherby Soroptimists set out to make Wetherby a Toilet Twinned Town. All are delighted to have fulfilled, in fact exceeded, the required number of toilets needed to be twinned in order to achieve the status of a 'Toilet Twinned Town' and a certificate has been presented to the Town Council by the President of Soroptimist International of Harrogate and District, Mrs Val Hills and received by the Mayor, Cllr Neil O’Byrne. (See photo).
We, on behalf of the Soroptimists, would like to thank the organisations, schools and individuals who supported this initiative. 33 toilets in total have been twinned, including some toilet blocks, but the project has not ended and if anyone reading this is interested in twinning a toilet then please get in touch with Heather Shipman at heather.shipman@lineone.net
