Well Dunn Pete!!

Pete Dunn and colleagues on Bramham’s Village Hall Committee were able to welcome more than seventy local residents to our “Village Hub” special Christmas buffet meal and celebration on 18 December, and deliver thirty hampers to those in our community who otherwise might be facing a difficult and lonely Christmas period!

Pete comments, “These projects, together with our regular Village Hub community café on Mondays, represent a real community effort by a dedicated band of village volunteers, who freely donate their time, efforts and more for the benefit of other residents, particularly the elderly, not just at Christmas but all year round. In particular, in signing up to Leeds City Council and Voluntary Action Leeds's "Warm Welcome Scheme" for 2024, the Village Hub are now part of a network of Welcome Spaces across Leeds that offer a heated, friendly and safe space, where any resident who is feeling the squeeze, the cold and the isolation can spend some time in more comfortable surroundings.”

Wetherby District Lions are pleased to be able to support the efforts of Pete and colleagues!

We are not limited to just Wetherby but also offer help and grants to people and events in nearby towns and villages. If you would like to apply for a grant please look at our page Grants | Wetherby | Wetherby District Lions Club (wetherbylions.org)
