Say ‘hello!’ to the Lions and ‘goodbye!’ to Coronavirus!

Naming the reindeer

We are all hoping that that the tremendous efforts being made to vaccinate a substantial number of the population will hasten a return to a more ‘normal’ way of life.

When visiting the Hallfield Lane Vaccination Hub, you won’t meet Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock or Chris Whitty!

You will, however, meet members of Wetherby District Lions who will have erected their gazebos to provide shelter and who will welcome you and do their best to make your visit as effortless as possible. So please say ‘hello!’ to us! We have our own wheelchairs on site so, if you require any assistance, just ask!

Sophie Dawson, Wetherby Primary Care Network Manager who is coordinating the complex logistics of the event, paid tribute to the hard work of the NHS staff at Wetherby Health Centre and the volunteers from all parts of the community. "It is a delight," she commented," to see everyone working so tirelessly against a common enemy."

As well as saying ‘hello!’ to the Lions please remember to have a kind word for the amazing NHS staff!!

Need support? Lion members are always available to assist where appropriate and to support other local clubs, charities, individuals etc. Please visit www.wetherbylions.org to discover more of what we do and who we support.
